The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for providing Person-Centered quality care and support to adults with disabilities while increasing their independence in a home-like setting in the community as well as help develop natural support within their community. Also, it is the responsibility of the DSP enhancement the quality of life for everyone served while promoting choice and decision-making skills.
Education
High School Diploma or G.E.D. Specific rehabilitative education or training beyond high school is preferred. A degree in Psychology, Rehabilitative Services, or Social Services is optimal.
Work Experience
Two years of successful work experience with people with a developmental disability is preferred, and personal experience and/ or a combination of education and experience including personal experience, CNA, PCA, etc
Training & Must Have
Drivers License
32-hour Medication Management (UYS will pay)
TOVA (UYS will pay)
First Aid/CPR/ AED (UYS will pay)
TB Test Results
Pass all mandatory background checks
